President's Xmas message: Eugene Arhin's creed

In his 2022 Christmas message to Ghanaians, President Akufo-Addo admonished privileged citizens with special opportunities to extend helping hands to the poor.

Following this message, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin, moved to the Awutu Senya West Constituency doing good to many that he could assist.

He first of all showed love to his party members by gifting them bags of rice and undisclosed amount of money. Since this act of love was shown to his party members, some of us felt it was not a big deal. The skeptical ones even went to the extent of suggesting that he was preparing their minds for the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

Contrary to our mischievous thoughts, Mr Arhin extended his philanthropic deeds to the widows and the ageds in the Awutu Senya West Constituency. These women have nothing to do with the NPP. The young man, who is known for executing a couple of infrastructural projects in the constituency gave the widows food items and clothes to make their Christmas enjoyable.

This is not the first time the President's Chief Communicator has shown love to the people of Awutu Senya West during festive seasons. He did something similar for his party delegates last year when he gave over 600 people a bag of rice each plus a piece of cloth.

Nonetheless, his decision to extend this noble act of love to hundreds of widows this year shows that Mr Eugene Arhin is doing this in total obedience to the President, whom he has worked with for the past ten years.

Observing the President's admonishment like a religious creed speaks volumes of Mr Arhin as a man of respect and humility. This could be one of the major reasons why the President has been working with him since the days of dry opposition till the days of greener pastures in power.

The people of Awutu Senya West have also found answers to why President Akufo-Addo would not hesitate to honour the requests of Mr Arhin, the very reason why major road projects in the Awutu Senya West Constituency are currently being constructed.

Thankfully, Mr Arhin has taught the youth of Awutu Senya West Constituency and Ghana as whole a valuable lesson from this behaviour. If you want to attract the love and blessings of leaders and the elderly, keep their intructions like religious creed.

Eugene Arhin has been doing this and today, roads that could not be fixed by cabinet ministers in Awutu Senya West are being fixed.
