OCT 18, 2022 LISTEN

This week's episode takes a critical look at one of the most pressing and disturbing issues affecting Ghana, namely illegal small-scale mining or Galamsey as it is known.

We start by saying what this is and how in recent years has become more sinister and the adverse effects this is having on Ghana.

I point out that it is the insatiable greed of Ghanaians that has created the problems with illegal small-scale mining we see in the country.

We also investigate the role of non-Ghanaians in this venture, particularly the Chinese whose involvement in small scale illegal mining has taken a very sinister twist including a nefarious agenda of destroying Ghana's cocoa industry whilst at the time developing their own cocoa industry.

We advise that sub-Kings, senior police, senior army officials and politicians are ALL involved in this illegal small-scale mining for their own selfish gain.

We delve into some of the dire consequences that is already having a devastating impact on the country.

We conclude by stating the government of Ghana needs to do much much more in order to tackle this menace or Ghana risks being destroyed as an entity.
