The school children at Koase Roman Catholic Primary and Junior High Schools will soon benefit from the initiatives by their new Member of Parliament.

The new Member of Parliament for Wenchi, Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, made this known to the Koase community at a meeting with the chief and his elders.

The new Member of Parliament added that, the Koase Traditional Area will also receive one set of computer to assist them to keep their records at their office.

''The Koase R/C School cannot continue to lack computers and so i have decided to supply computers to this school to help the school children to have a practical experience in information technology''. He further stated that ''the world is run by software developers and programmers and that once i have prioritised education, i have the duty to provide them with computers''.

An elder at the meeting disclosed that his primary school boy complains of lack of computers in his school. ''My child learns ICT from text book, without any practicals - how can he even understand whatever he is being taught and pass his exams''?

The Koase Chief, Nana Owusu Ansah Sasraku Besseah, welcomed his initiative to provide computers to solve a major challenge at his school at Koase

Nana Owusu Ansah Sasraku Besseah, further informed the Member of Parliament of the plans by the Koase community to establish a nursing training college.

Speaking to Ghanaweb, the Koase Chief indicated that his community is building up new classrooms at where the primary school is located to be used by the junior high school pupils so that, that site can be used to establish the nursing training college.

The Koase Chief said ''the community in 2020, began the construction of new classrooms on the same compound at where the primary school is located''. He continued that ''we will then use that site, where the current junior high school is, to establish nursing training colleges because it has a vast land''.

''We decided to establish a nursing training college so that our children can be trained here to take care of us''. This, according to the chief, will solve the issue of health workers who refuse to accept postings to his community with a flimsy excuse.

The Wenchi Lawmaker, took advantage of the three weeks break from Parliament, to embark on community engagements with the traditional chiefs and opinion leaders at the various levels.
