Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey

Dear Rev. Prof.Emmanuel Martey.

I trust you are swimming in a pool of good health. It has been long since we heard from you in the public space concerning issues pertinent to national interest especially in the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections.

Something seem to be wrong and this has been baffling my mind for the past four(4) years and I deem it necessary to write you this letter to enquire from you the positives and relevant responses to this hassling issues am confronted with.

In 2012 - 2016 you were resounding for the good reasons which some of us were strongly following and conceived to your thoughts and actions when you explicitly chastised the government of the NDC now in opposition of alleged CORRUPTION Scandals and the babies with sharp teeth stealing public funds.....You were very Maverick, vocal and eloquent towards the issues of corruption and the state of the country, her leadership and the citizenry. For the love of your country it triggered you to make a meticulous statement without any provocation that; you would not keep quiet but will "talk today and talk tomorrow".

With all due respect Reverend professor, I want to kindly ask you about the state of corruption in this country for the past 4 years and the recent striking ones under the NPP lead Nana Addo's government?

Is conscionable to question your magnanimity on the following few but crass corruption scandals recorded in the medium of 2 years, just two years.

  1. The galamsey brouhaha involving a professor minister and presidential staffers. Not forgetting those who were shot and killed.
  2. The missing gold and escavators.
  3. PDS
  4. Contaminated fuel
  5. IMF and world Bank (spree borrowing for extravaganza spendings)
  6. AGYAPA ROYALTIES TRANSACTION LIMITED. The mother of all scandals.
  7. The state WILL and state capture for tribal apartheid.
  8. Auditor General and Special Prosecutor.

Even the whole MOTHER SERPENT of CORRUPTION exposed by the special prosecutor appointed by the same government, you still didn't fine any blots with that. You couldn't speak also. You ve still not spoken and finally, the recent election fraud, police brutality and violence. This was indeed ungodly and most unprecedented election flawed among all elections in the anas of history in this country.

Sorry sir, but is everything alright! the talking that was ignited with the spirit of patriotism has seem to have fallen face down in the cold waters.

This silence like a cemetery by the Christian council and other stakeholders is extremely queer.

"What is good for the goose is good for the gander".

For the sake of improving the sanity of our democracy, peace and transparency in the electoral prospect of this country, Let's speak truth to power irrespective of the party in power and thwart discrimination, ethnocentrism and partisanship to end the evil of retardation of our growth as a nation .

Sir, your voice is still needed in the public space to correct a lot of wrongs ongoing in our Democracy and toward a good nation building.

Please speak up and don't be silent. Wake up with the Christian council from your slumber and let's push our country forward with TRUTH .

Thank you.
