The KasaNufo Public Speaking Training and Contest (K-PSTC) Grande Finale was held on the 25th of September, 2020 with Nunya Apetsi, a Level 300 student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) crowned the winner of the Contest.

This event organised by the EKM Consulting was initially scheduled to take place on 27th of March, 2020, but had to be rescheduled to 25th September of the same year, as eight weeks of training was shortened to seven weeks due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus, but the event pushed through successfully.

There were twelve (12) trainees and contestants in all. And their performances were put under scrutiny by a set of expert Public Speakers (the Jury). The Jury was made up of six members including; Emmaline Datey, the HR Manager of EIB Network, Prince Akpah, the CEO of Avance Media, Eric Amissah, a Telecoms Engineer and a Storyteller, AS Dzah, the Director of Toastmasters Ghana, Dominic Asitanga, a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Samuel Swanzy-Baffoe, a Student Activist and Social Commentator.

Kafui Dey was also present to deliver the keynote speech of the event on the topic “How to Build a Profitable Speaking Career as a Young Ghanaian”.

After three rounds of beautiful performances and a keen contest, Nunya Apetsi emerged as the best amongst budding great speakers. Commodore Elsie Comfort and Senanum Kwabla Adjani, both Level 400 students of GIJ, came in 2nd and 3rd places respectively. The 4th place was awarded to Audrey Adeliyine Akakiya.

At the end of the day, all 12 contestants were awarded certificates for completing the training, thus becoming certified Public Speakers, as the winner also took home, aside the certificate, a plaque and a hamper from Bembi hampers.
