A former Member of Parliament of the Convention People's Party (CPP) during Nkrumah's regime, Madam Lucy Anin, has vented her spleen on the leadership of the CPP, accusing them of destroying the party.
She categorically called for the resignation of Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Publicity Chairman; Prof. Nii Noi Duwuona, the General Secretary; Dr Edmund Delle, the Chairman, as well as Mr Reiley Poku.
She alleged in an interview with the Weekend Crusading Guide that the four had been planted in to the CPP to ensure its destruction, adding that the leadership of the party were flirting with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who destroyed the fortunes of the one time strong CPP.
She wondered how any member of the CPP could join the NDC to make noise about supposed unemployment in the country.
"They destroyed all forms of employment and sold factories and state properties for themselves in the name of divestiture. I am therefore surprised that Kwesi Pratt today joins Rawlings to march and make noise in the street, knowing very well that the man and his P/NDC should rather be blamed for unemployment", she said furiously.
According to the former Bechem MP, there were new forces willing to assist the CPP, but are reluctant due to the unattractive nature of the party and its leadership.
She recalled her last visit to the party's office saying that it does not look like the office of the party which talks and seeks to win power in the country.
According to Madam Anin, the leadership of the CPP simply lacked leadership skills and must therefore step aside for a new breed of leadership who have the ability to lift the party from its current stage of a more attractive one.
