Come the 21st November 2015; top African music acts such as Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N’Dour, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and many more will converge at Independence Square for the free Mo Ibrahim concert.
The Mo Ibrahim Concert has been an annual show organized by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, an African Foundation which was established with the objective of promoting good governance in Africa.
The concert happens every mid-November every year in a different African country and this time it’s the turn to host the concert which top African acts trooping into the Ghana.
With electric, whirling dance moves, bright rhythms and powerful singing, Beninese musician-activist Angelique Kidjo is set to bring her unifying musical message to the Independence Square on 21st November, 2015 evening.
The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter who serves as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador and continues to be deeply involved in African issues, especially those of women and this will be a good chance for her to sing and inspire Ghanaians.
Youssou N'Dour is widely recognized as one few African artist to popularize African music around the globe. An outspoken political activist, he is known for delivering historic speeches and testimonies during most of his performances too.
Vodafone Ghana Music Award & BET award winners, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy who are currently the local champions in Ghana will also entertain the crowd that will besiege the venue.
Ohemaa Dadoa, Cabum, Yaa Pono, Rashid Metal, Kankam, Fimfim will warm up the stage with DJ Mic Smith handling the music for the nite.
The Mo Ibrahim Concert has given the stage for Africans to enjoy music from their roots and beyond.
