Miss Irene Konlan: ‘I Will Change Nakpanduri Scarp Like Kwawu If I Win Miss Afro Tourism And Culture For 2015’

Miss Irene Konlan is a first year student of the Tamale Polytechnic where she is studying Hotel Catering and Institutional management. Irene Konlan hails from Kanbagu in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District of the Northern Region; Irene is the first child of the parents.

Having the passion to bring development to her district through tourist and culture, Irene is amongst other six ladies waiting to be crowned Miss Afro Tourism and Culture for the three Northern regions.

Irene went through many stages to get to this far as more than 40 ladies were dropped along the line. As a young and intelligent Bimoba lady, Irene Konlan is appealing to the good people of the entire Northern region, the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District residents and most especially Bimobas to rise and help her grap the crown as one hand is already holding it.

In an interview with Miss Irene Konlan at a Community radio station in Bunkpurugu, this is what is she has to say. Over the years, I have been looking for an opportunity that, I can use to tell the whole world what is in the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District, especially in Tourism and Culture,, The Nakpanduri Escarpment, Waterfalls, African Map Stone, Water which cures genie worm, Late President Kwame Nkrumah Guest House, Rocks for Cement production, Oil sites and many other productive sites are not known to the public.

Talking about culture/Traditions, the Bimobas and for that matter the people of Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District has the most exciting and admirable festivals that needs to be exposed to the world and so when I heard of this contest, I said thank God, this is my time to rise and tell the full story to the world about Bimobas and the District as a whole.

Irene is confident that, come Friday 14^th August 2015 at Radatch Memorial Hotel she will display Bimoba and Northern culture to wear the crown , as a footballer and an athletics , Irene is sure that, these other qualities she possess will exhibited to make her winning a one touch show.
