By Kofi Duah - Daily Graphic

It takes more than a pretty face and a burning desire to become a top actress. 24-year-old budding actress Salma Mumin is aware of this but no matter how long it takes to get there, she says she is bidding her time.

To the general public, Salma Mumin may not be that popular compared to other big-name Ghanaian actresses but among movie watchers she has been quite visible following her small-role performances in movies such as Leave My Wife, Seduction, No Apology, Crazy, Hotel Babylon, 3 Some, Passion and Soul and College Girls.

Thankfully, more movie producers are beginning to notice Salma and perhaps she will be moving up into the top bracket of actresses soon.

Talking about how she got into the movie industry, Salma revealed that, she admired a couple of actresses and always wanted to be one but didn’t know how to go about it until she was introduced to Abdul Salam by a friend.

According to her, she got to know a lot of producers through Abdul Salam and after featuring in Passion and Soul in 2008 by A.A Production, she knew the road was smooth for her.

Born to Mr. Mahama Tando, a businessman and Mrs Asibi Mohammed Tando, a trader in the Upper West Region, the single lady who has worked with Nigerian movies stars like Tonto Dikeh, Patience Ozokwor , Jim Iyke among others says she is waiting for her ideal - a sweet handsome young man, to settle down with.

She worships at International Central Gospel Church and plans to open her own shop where she would be selling building materials. Salma prefers to stay indoors most of the time watching movies.
