Don't Sacrifice The Bible On The Altar Of Convenience

I. DAUGHTER OF GOD, today, we have not burnt our Bibles. No. But we have done something subtler and deadlier than burning it: we have sacrificed it on the altar of convenience. We have placed the Bible on one side. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables." That time is NOW. We want preachers who bless us but do not confront us, those that comfort us but do not correct us, and those that promise prosperity but never mention purity. But the Bible was never given to make you comfortable. It was given to make you CONFORMED to Christ. Today God is saying: STOP SACRIFICING TRUTH FOR CONVENIENCE. Judges 21:25 – "In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

SON OF MAN, we do what is right in OUR eyes, not what is right in GOD'S eyes. God says "Flee fornication" - 1 Corinthians 6:18. Convenience says, "We are in love; God understands." God says "Be not unequally yoked" - 2 Corinthians 6:14. Convenience says, "But he is rich and handsome; I will change him after marriage." God says, "Forgive" – Matthew 6:15. Convenience says, "I will forgive, but I will never talk to them again." God says "Pay your tithe" - Malachi 3:10. Convenience says, "Things are hard now; God understands." That is sacrificing the Bible. We seem to obey the parts of the Bible that suit us. We like Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you..." But we skip Jeremiah 29:13 - "And ye shall seek me... with all your heart." We shout Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ..." But we ignore Philippians 4:8 – the call to holy thinking. We claim Psalm 23:1 – "The Lord is my Shepherd..." but we reject John 10:27 – "My sheep hear my voice, and... follow me." Mark 7:13 – "Making the word of God of no effect through your tradition..." Are you worshipping God at your convenience? Are you preaching Christ for other reasons? Let us watch out for the days that are coming very soon.

III. CHILD OF GOD, be vigilant when culture says, "Lying is smart business," and you adjust your Christianity. When the official says, "Sleep with me and I will promote you," and you adjust your holiness. When social media says, "Show your body to get likes," and you sacrifice modesty. If the Bible does not control you in public, you don't believe it in private. WHY ARE PEOPLE SACRIFICING BEING IDENTIFIED WITH THE BIBLE? Proverbs 29:25 – "The fear of man bringeth a snare..." We are afraid of being called "too spiritual", "old-fashioned", or "judgemental". So we water down truth to be liked. But Galatians 1:10 asks, "Do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." The Bible demands discipline. Convenience demands ease. Matthew 7:13-14 - The way to life is NARROW and STRAIT. Convenience loves the BROAD way. It is more convenient to cohabit than to wait. It is more convenient to steal at the office than to be honest and struggle. It is more convenient to gossip than to pray.

IV. MY BELOVED SISTERS AND BROTHERS IN THE LORD, remember Psalm 119:97 says, "O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day." Today we don't love the Word anymore. Our Bible is dusty. Our prayer altar is cold. Our phone has more screen time than our Bible. When you don't love the Word, you will easily trade it. WE HAVE ITCHING EARS - WE WANT PREACHERS WHO PAMPER US. 2 Timothy 4:3 - We want motivational talk, not transformation truth.

We want prophets who prophesy promotion, not prophets who say, "Repent!" THE DANGER OF SACRIFICING THE BIBLE: if you lose your foundation, you lose your power and authority, and you gradually become a fake Christian. 2 Timothy 3:5 – "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof..." You still go to church, still shout Amen, but your life is empty. You have a form without fire. Remember this is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Psalm 119:89 - "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." It is not up for debate. It is not up for vote. Whether you like it or not, whether culture agrees or not, IT IS SETTLED.

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—Make up your mind: if God said it, I will do it. If God forbids it, I will not do it.

PRAYER: Father, in Jesus' name, forgive us for sacrificing Your Word for convenience. Today, we return to THE BOOK. We declare Your Word is final in our lives, in our marriages, in our offices, and in our finances. Give us grace to obey when it hurts, to stand when we are alone, to choose truth over trends. Let our lives be built on THE ROCK that can never be shaken. From today, we will not bow. We will not compromise. We will live by IT IS WRITTEN. In Christ Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
