How Far Are You From God?

I. SON OF MAN, today I reveal to you a mystery: one of the greatest deceptions of the enemy is not to keep you OUT of church, but to keep you FAR from God WHILE you are IN church. The enemy aims to keep you busy FOR God while ensuring you remain disconnected FROM God. Today God is not asking, How far is your church from your house? God is not asking you how often you come to church. He is asking, how far is your heart from Him? Before you attempt to answer Him, remember that you can be in the palace and still be far from the King. You can work in the hospital every day and still be sick. You can be in church and still be far from God. Honestly, face the question, Scripture reveals that "These people come near to me with their mouth and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me." - Isaiah 29:13, Matthew 15:8. You can be a Minister of God and still be far from God. This is the case of the Eli type of priesthood anointing without intimacy. Eli was a priest, but God was speaking to young Samuel because Eli's heart was far. Samson had power but lost presence. Saul had the title of king, but the Spirit had left him.

II. MY DEAR BROTHER the shocking reality: position does not equal proximity. We measure closeness by position; God measures closeness by relationship. Ministry can become a profession instead of a fellowship. You can preach about the God you no longer talk to in private. You can be anointed and still be distant. Gifts do not guarantee closeness. Anointing without intimacy leads to emptiness and burnout. You can attend church service every day of the week and still be far from God. Attendance is not intimacy. The Pharisees never missed a Sabbath, yet Jesus told them, "You have never heard His voice nor seen His form." John 5:37-39. Many have church attendance but no altar life. We have become fans in the stadium of faith, not players on the field. We know the order of service, but not the voice of the Spirit. You may attend church from Monday to Sunday, but you can live from Monday to Sunday without God in your heart. The church building is not the presence of God. You can sit near the choir and be far from Christ. God is saying to every pastor, prophet, evangelist, and church member today: "I called you to be WITH me before you go FOR me." Mark 3:14

III. DAUGHTER OF ZION, you can lead the choir, be an usher, be a deacon, lead prayer, and still be far from God. Beloved, activity is not intimacy; leading worship is not the same as being a worshipper. Lucifer himself led worship in heaven, yet his heart was far. You can sing, "I have decided to follow Jesus" with a powerful voice, but your heart has not decided. You can lift your hands in church on Sunday and live an unholy life on Monday. God is not looking for workers only; He is looking for worshippers—those who worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:23. Remember the case of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15. The younger brother was far away geographically but came close to the father's heart. The elder brother was close geographically—always in the Father's house, working in the field—but his heart was very far. He was in the house but not in the father's embrace. Which son are you? God is not looking for workers; He is looking for sons. Not just servants, but intimate friends. Minister of God, choir leader, usher, deacon, faithful member who never misses service... Is your heart near, or just your body?

IV. MY BELOVED SISTER, no one wakes up one morning being far from God; it is a gradual process. It starts sometimes with unrepented sin, as explained in Isaiah 59:2—Your iniquities have separated you from your God. Or through holding on to offense and unforgiveness, pride of position—that is when you grow bigger and think the church cannot move without you, and God steps back. Another way of drifting from God is being busy without God—Martha was busy serving Jesus Christ but missed intimacy with him. Luke 10:40. Watch out also against spiritual laziness: no personal altar. no fasting. no word outside Sunday church service. Beloved, we must stop pretending. Like David in Psalm 51: "I acknowledge my transgressions." Say, "Lord, I am far." Sister, rebuild your Secret Altar: Matthew 6:6. Closeness is built in secret. Set a time, not leftover time, for God. Worship Until He Comes: Worship is the highway back to presence. Don't sing songs; make love to God with worship. This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Walk in Obedience: Closeness is kept by obedience. John 14:21—"He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me."

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—When you are far, you pray only when you need something, or when you are on duty. When you are close, you pray because you love His presence.

PRAYER: Father, forgive us for replacing intimacy with activity. Forgive us for honouring You with our lips while our hearts are far. Today we return. Draw us close, Lord. Rekindle our first love. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
