Do You Trust God?

I. DAUGHTER OF ZION, may the grace of God be multiplied unto you and your household. Do you trust your friends? Do you trust your spouse? Do you trust your colleagues at the office? Who do you trust? What is your trust built upon? Beloved, it’s easy to say “I trust God” on a Sunday morning when the worship is sweet and you know that your bank account is full. But the real question God is asking us today is not, “Do you believe in Me? The real question is, “DO YOU TRUST ME?" Brethren, our belief points to the facts that “God exists.” But do you trust in Him? “Trust is not just what you say. It’s what you do when life gets hard.” Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Sister, if there are no storms, there is no need for an anchor. If there is no darkness, you don’t need light. God is not looking for perfect circumstances. He is looking for trusting hearts. Trust is proven in the waiting. In Psalm 27:14, we are instructed to “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Abraham waited 25 years for Isaac. Joseph waited 13 years in a pit and prison. While you are waiting, does your attitude show peace or panic? Does your mouth show faith or fear?

II. MY BELOVED SISTERS while you are going through your own period of testing and trials, do you still trust God? That is trust to admit, “God, I don’t have the answer, but I have You.” Does your attitude show you trust God when you are going through struggles? Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God... will guard your hearts and minds.” The world watches how Christians handle prolonged pain. In Sickness: Do you say, "Lord, I don’t understand this body, but I trust the Healer"? Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” In financial difficulties: Do you still tithe, still give, still thank God? Habakkuk 3:17-18 “Though the fig tree does not bud... yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” In Grief: Do you mourn with hope, not as those without hope? 1 Thessalonians 4:13. Beloved, your attitude during struggle is a sermon people are reading you. Does your response show you trust God when facing marital problems? Marriage is one of God’s biggest trust tests. Because you can’t control your spouse. Ephesians 5:22, 25 calls both husband and wife to submit and love “as unto the Lord.”

III. SON OF MAN, as a believer when there is conflict: Do you run to gossip, or do you run to prayer? James 1:19 “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” When there is betrayal, can you say, “God, You are my defender and my healer? As in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” When there is coldness: Do you still sow love, forgiveness, and prayer? As Romans 12:21 teaches us “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Trusting God in marriage means, “God, I will do my part and trust You with the outcome.” 1 Peter 3:1-2 tells wives and husbands that a gentle and quiet spirit can win people without a word. Today, save your marriage through submitting it into God’s hand again and trust His ability to help you through it. Brother, does your outlook show you trust God at the office? Your workplace is your mission field. And your boss is watching your God. Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” When there is unfair treatment: Do you retaliate, or do you commit it to God? 1 Peter 2:23 “When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate... he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.” Do you still trust God? When there is pressure to compromise: Do you choose integrity over promotion? When there is fear of layoffs: Is your security in your salary or in your shepherd?

IV. MY DEAR BROTHERS today: will your conversation show you trust God to the brethren who are cast down? Somebody came to church heavy today. Discouraged. Tired. Will you obey as directed in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up"? Remember that your conversation can either be poison or medicine. Proverbs 12:25 “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.” Trusting God means we speak faith to each other. Trusting God is both a confession and a practice. It’s not enough to sing it. We must live it. Practice: Praying instead of panicking. Giving instead of hoarding. Forgiving instead of bitterness. Standing instead of quitting. THE COMMAND FOR TODAY: TRUST GOD AND STAND STILL. This is the hardest and most powerful thing God ever asks. In Exodus 14:13-14, “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today... The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” WHO ARE YOU LEANING ON? Jeremiah 17:5, 7 reveals, “Cursed is the one who trusts in man... But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Not with your lips, but with your life.

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—Right now, let’s lay down what we have been carrying. Anxiety, fear, marital pain, financial pressure, grief. 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

PRAYER: Father, we choose today to trust You. Not our understanding, not our plans. Help us to stand still and watch You fight. And when You bring us through, make our lives a testimony that causes others to trust You too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
