I. SON OF MAN, Do you know the cause? Before David picked up a stone, before he took a step toward Goliath, he asked a question that silenced the noise around him: “Is there not a cause? I Samuel 17:29. Brothers and sisters, every step you are about to take, every assignment you are carrying, and every door you are praying to walk through—God is asking you that same question: “What is the cause for what you are about to embark on?" Activity without cause is motion without direction. Zeal without purpose burns out. We live in a time where many are busy, but few are intentional. You can be doing a lot and yet not be doing what you were called to do. David didn’t run toward Goliath because he loved war; because at that time he was just a small boy with no experience in war. He ran because the cause was bigger than his fear. The cause was the honour of God’s name. The cause was the deliverance of a people. The cause was the testimony that would echo for generations.
II. DAUGHTER OF ZION, when you know the cause, you can endure the cost. Paul endured shipwrecks and beatings because the cause was “to finish his course with joy." Esther risked her life because the cause was “if I perish, I perish” for her people. Jesus endured the cross because of “the joy set before Him." He saw beyond the pain. If you don’t know your cause, the moment pressure comes, you will quit. But when you know why you are doing it, the how becomes bearable. As you stand at the edge of what you are about to embark on, examine the root of your cause: Is this for your name to be lifted or for His? Proverbs 16:4 says, “The Lord has made all things for Himself.” If your cause cannot bring glory to God, it will not stand. Check your motive. Are you building your platform or His kingdom? David’s cause wasn’t about proving himself. It was about defending Israel and lifting the reproach off God’s people. A cause that only serves you will die with you. A cause that serves others will outlive you. Ask: Who will be free, healed, or lifted because I obeyed?
III. MY DEAR BROTHERS IN THE LORD, the world will tell you to chase success, status, and speed. But the Kingdom asks: Does this advance righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit? Your cause must be anchored in Scripture, not just inspired by trends. David didn’t go to the battlefield with Saul’s armour. He went with what God had provided in the secret place—the sling, the stones, and the testimony of past victories. Why? Because the cause gave him authority. When your cause is clear, you stop begging for permission and start walking in conviction; you stop comparing and start contending; and you stop waiting for perfect conditions and start moving on divine instruction. Nehemiah didn’t wait for the walls to be rebuilt before he wept, prayed, and planned. The cause of Jerusalem’s broken walls gave him authority to approach the king. Your cause is your credential.
IV. MY BELOVED SISTERS IN THE LORD, today, the Spirit is calling you to audit your "why"; let us pause before we pursue it. Before you launch that business, say “yes” to that role, or step into that ministry, write down the cause and pray about it. Pray for alignment. Lord, is this cause birthed in you, or in me? Purge every selfish ambition and replace it with Kingdom purpose. Press in with conviction. Once you know the cause, move. Goliath doesn’t fall because you think about it. He falls because you run toward it with faith. Generations don’t remember how busy you were. They remember what you stood for. They remember the cause you lived and died for. What will your cause be? As you embark on this next season, let your answer be clear: “I am doing this because God called me. I am building this because souls depend on it. I am stepping out because His glory must be revealed.” This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor, Yes! Is there not a cause? Yes, there is.
V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—May that cause be greater than our fear, bigger than our limitations, and stronger than every obstacle before us.
PRAYER: Lord, search me. Show me the cause behind my struggle. I don’t want to manage it anymore. I want to surrender it. Create in me a clean heart. Heal the root so my life can bear new fruit. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
