At the 7th edition of the Hospitality Awards Africa 2025, Mrs. Ekua Zara Ghartey-Tsagli, Head of Marketing at Labadi Beach Hotel, emerged as one of the most celebrated professionals of the night. Her induction into Africa’s Top 50 Women in Hospitality and Tourism, alongside the conferment of an Honorary Award, marked a defining moment in her distinguished career.

Hosted in Lomé, Togo, the ceremony brought together hospitality leaders from across the continent to celebrate innovation, service excellence, and cultural preservation. The event, held at the elegant Hotel 2 Février, symbolised the evolving face of African hospitality on the global stage.

Mrs. Ghartey-Tsagli also received her Honorary Award from Captain George Nfodjoh (Rtd), Ghana’s Ambassador to Togo, recognising her sustained impact on hospitality branding and leadership. Her work at Labadi Beach Hotel has been instrumental in reinforcing the property’s status as Ghana’s premier five-star beachfront destination.
The 2025 awards were themed “Celebrating Africa’s Authentic Hospitality Culture,” a call to honour the continent’s traditional values of warmth, service, and community. This vision was vividly brought to life as attendees appeared in cultural attire, transforming the evening into a celebration of African heritage.

With a career built on strategic insight, creative excellence, and people-centred leadership, Mrs. Ghartey-Tsagli has consistently championed marketing approaches that balance luxury with authenticity. Her leadership has not only strengthened brand equity but also inspired teams and mentored emerging professionals within the industry.

Speaking on the significance of the host country, Mr. Eugene Vidzro, Executive Director of Hospitality Awards Africa, explained that rotating the awards across African nations reinforces HAA’s mission of inclusivity and representation. Mrs. Ghartey-Tsagli’s recognition within this framework underscores her influence as a continental leader shaping the future of African hospitality.
