The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has referred concerns over reported tensions between the leadership of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to the Presidency for consideration.
The development follows a petition submitted by the Authority’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, popularly known as Abeiku Santana, over alleged communication challenges with the Chief Executive Officer, Maame Efua Houadjeto.
Speaking on Starr FM on November 4, 2026, the minister confirmed receiving the petition and disclosed that she had engaged both parties on the matter.
“Oh, it's been done, and I think that we should give it time. And let's give government time to deal with this,” she said.
According to the minister, she has formally reported the matter to Flagstaff House and is hopeful that the Presidency will take appropriate decisions in the coming days.
She expressed confidence that any intervention would serve the interests of the authority's workforce and the broader tourism sector.
Dzifa Gomashie emphasised that the Ghana Tourism Authority plays a crucial role in the country's tourism development, noting that its operations have implications for tourism, culture and the creative arts.
She, however, cautioned against describing the situation as an established leadership conflict, despite concerns raised in the petition.
The minister said she would allow the government time to address the matter, expressing hope for an outcome that would promote effective administration within the authority.
