Gospel musician Empress Gifty has revealed that she previously underwent a breast reduction procedure, explaining that her decision was influenced by concerns about maintaining her appearance after losing weight.
The musician made the revelation while defending fellow gospel artiste Florence Obinim against online criticism and speculation that she had undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
Speaking in a video shared on social media on November 1, 2026, Empress Gifty said she was disappointed by the comments directed at Florence, especially those questioning her physical appearance.
She questioned why some women had joined the criticism instead of appreciating the courage it takes to undergo surgery.
Empress Gifty explained that she once had a noticeably larger bust but decided to reduce its size after considering the possible effects of weight loss on her body.
According to her, she did extensive research because she wanted to maintain firm skin and prevent her breasts from sagging.
“When you all knew me, I used to have big breasts, but now, I’ve made it small. I didn’t want my breasts to sag after the surgery, so I did a lot of research to make my skin firm after the weight loss,” she disclosed.
She added that she made the decision because she could afford the procedure and believed it would make her feel more beautiful.
The gospel musician used her experience to challenge the negative perceptions surrounding cosmetic surgery, arguing that people should not be condemned for choosing to improve aspects of their physical appearance.
She also maintained that celebrities deserve respect and should not be subjected to public ridicule over decisions concerning their bodies.
Her comments come amid widespread online discussions about Florence Obinim's appearance, although claims that the gospel musician underwent a BBL have not been independently confirmed.
