Nigerian senator, Ned Nwoko has appealed to social media users and bloggers to stop criticising actress, Regina Daniels, and allow her time to focus on her well-being.
In a statement shared on his social media page, Ned said the actress needed compassion, support and understanding rather than public scrutiny and what he described as false reports.
He said Daniels had endured more than many people knew and urged the public not to add to her difficulties.
“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he said.
Ned also referred to a video Daniels shared on her birthday, saying it offered an insight into some of the health challenges she had faced.
Despite their strained relationship, the senator said her welfare remained important to him and appealed to the public to give her space to heal.
He further urged people to consider their children, saying they were being well cared for and deserved to see their mother receive support.
The appeal comes amid continued public discussion about the actress's personal life and her relationship with the senator.
