The Senior Staff Association (SSA) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has petitioned management over growing concerns about the Authority’s administrative affairs.
In a letter signed by SSA President, Reginald Malm and Divisional Chairman of the GTA Union, Osman Ajedi, the association demanded urgent clarification on issues including the 2026 FIFA World Cup logistics, visa slots, Tribe Culture Fest partnership, staff appointments, allowances and provident fund arrears.
The association has requested a meeting with management within five working days. The SSA said it has noted concerns from various quarters about GTA’s involvement in activities relating to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, particularly visa facilitation, partnerships and allocation of opportunities.
They are demanding clarity on procurement and partnerships, visa slots and embassy engagements, allocation to board members, management and staff, and how the Authority is involved with Tribe Culture Fest.
The association also questioned the administrative status of Mr. Bright Asempa Tsadey and Mr. Sadat Sena Abdulai, following their employment and subsequent dismissal.
They are seeking clarification on their employment status, official roles and responsibilities, Mr. Tsadey’s appointment letter, and allegations relating to a US visa scandal.
The SSA further raised concerns over outstanding staff allowances and provident fund arrears, saying the prolonged non-payment is affecting staff morale.
“We therefore respectfully request a comprehensive update on all outstanding staff allowances and provident fund arrears owed by the Authority,” the statement said.
The petition comes at a time when regional directors, senior staff and a deputy CEO have raised concerns about the leadership style of CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto.
The SSA said it remains committed to constructive dialogue, transparency and accountability, and urged management to give the petition urgent attention in the interest of staff welfare and institutional credibility.
