Ghanaian musician Safo Newman has emphasised his desire to be accepted for who he is, insisting that nobody can force him to abandon his signature look by asking him to take off his hat.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM Kumasi, the musician reaffirmed his commitment to staying true to his identity, making it clear that his appearance should not become a condition for acceptance in the music industry.
According to Safo Newman, he wants music lovers to appreciate him for his talent and individuality rather than expecting him to change his appearance to fit other people's preferences.
His comments come amid discussions about his branding and public image, following differing advice from renowned Ghanaian musicians Sarkodie and Shatta Wale on how he should position himself in the industry.
While Sarkodie reportedly advised him to remain consistent with the identity that initially attracted music lovers to his music, Shatta Wale offered a different perspective on his branding, including concerns about how his management had groomed him and presented his image.
