Ghanaian musician Safo Newman has explained why he prefers Sarkodie’s advice on branding to that of Shatta Wale, stressing his commitment to maintaining the identity that made people fall in love with his music.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM Kumasi, Safo Newman disclosed that he intends to remain true to the brand he established at the beginning of his music career, following advice from rapper Sarkodie.
According to him, Sarkodie advised him to stay consistent with the identity he introduced to the Ghanaian music industry, noting that his uniqueness and original style were among the reasons listeners embraced his music.
Safo Newman believes changing his established identity could affect the connection he has built with his audience, hence his decision to maintain the image and style that initially attracted attention to his music.
However, he acknowledged that Shatta Wale had offered a different perspective on how he should approach his branding.
According to Safo Newman, the dancehall musician expressed concerns about how his management had groomed him and suggested that changes to his appearance and overall image could be necessary, particularly as his brand continues to grow.
