Veteran Nigerian actor, Jide Kosoko, has revealed that he has been living with diabetes since 1996, saying he remains committed to managing the condition to stay alive.
Speaking on the Africa A-List podcast, he urged his colleagues to prioritise their health and undergo regular medical check-ups.
Jide was responding to criticism over his attendance at social events while a colleague was reportedly ill. He questioned why his own health challenges should prevent him from attending such gatherings.
“I've been diabetic since 1996 till date, and I've continued to maintain myself because I don't want to die at all,” he said.
The actor also recounted undergoing a colonoscopy after being advised to check for possible signs of cancer. He said he was put to sleep during the procedure and felt he had nearly died.
Jide Kosoko urged people to take their health seriously and seek regular medical examinations.
