The Accra Sports Stadium came alive on Saturday, October 17, as dancehall star Shatta Wale celebrated his 45th birthday with ShattaFest 2026, attracting thousands of enthusiastic fans, celebrated musicians and prominent personalities.
The event brought together members of the Shatta Movement, who filled the stadium in white outfits in line with the festival’s dress code, creating a vibrant atmosphere of music, dancing and excitement.
The night featured electrifying performances from Patapaa, Fancy Gadam, Jupitar, Kwesi Amewuga and Sista Afia, with each artiste adding a unique touch to the celebration.
Patapaa got the audience moving with his popular hit One Corner before performing Body Fi Body, his collaboration with Shatta Wale. Sista Afia also shared the stage with the birthday celebrant for their hit song Jeje, while Medikal joined him for their recent collaboration Sika.
The festival attracted several notable personalities, including actress Nana Ama McBrown, Criminal Investigations Department Director-General COP Lydia Yaako Donkor and Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
Beyond the performances, Shatta Wale shared personal moments with fans, including a revelation that his mother had gifted him $50,000 for his birthday. A congratulatory message from President John Dramani Mahama was also shared during the event, recognising the musician’s influence in Ghana’s creative industry and among young people.
For fans and supporters, ShattaFest 2026 was more than a birthday celebration. It was a showcase of the musician’s enduring connection with his audience and the growing place of live music events in Ghana’s entertainment landscape.
The celebration once again demonstrated Shatta Wale’s ability to turn a personal milestone into a major entertainment spectacle, bringing music lovers together for a memorable night in Accra.
