The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed the interdicted headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, Zakaria Abdulai, to withdraw from the party’s Juaben constituency chairmanship race or risk disqualification.
The party’s Deputy National Communications Director, Julius Kwame Anthony, disclosed the directive to Citi News.
Mr Abdulai, popularly known as Paapaa, is seeking to contest the chairmanship position in the NDC’s internal elections but is facing allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student.
The allegations are under investigation, with the Ghana Education Service (GES) having interdicted him pending the outcome of its inquiries into the matter.
According to the police, a 20-year-old Form Two student of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, accompanied by her father, lodged a complaint with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Obuasi on August 4, 2026.
The outcome of the investigations into the allegations has not yet been established.
