Musician Bisa Kdei has announced the maiden edition of The Convention, a new annual event dedicated to celebrating Ghana’s rich highlife tradition and cultural heritage.
Scheduled for December 20, 2026, at the Underbridge Annex, East Legon, the event is expected to attract highlife enthusiasts and music lovers from Ghana and the diaspora.
The Convention will feature live music, entertainment and curated cultural experiences, with organisers aiming to bring highlife lovers together for an evening that honours Ghana’s timeless sound. The debut edition is expected to become a permanent fixture on Ghana’s end‑of‑year entertainment calendar, with plans to host the event annually.
Bisa Kdei, who has been active in the music industry for nearly 15 years, is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s leading contemporary highlife artistes. Through The Convention, he seeks to further celebrate, preserve and promote the genre and its cultural significance.
