Lawyers representing the husband of Ghanaian fashion model and actress Nana Akua Addo have responded to videos and pictures circulating online, disputing the narrative that their client assaulted the actress.
In a statement dated October 6, 2026, and addressed to media houses, FBA Law Consult, acting for Harold Duodu Norman, said the images and videos showing Nana Akua Addo with injuries had been accompanied by captions suggesting that the injuries were caused by an alleged assault by their client.
The lawyers described the circulation of the material as an attempt to influence public opinion and garner sympathy, while noting that the circumstances surrounding the matter are currently the subject of criminal investigations before the Ghana Police Service's Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).
They also referenced an ongoing civil case between the couple, identified in the statement as Rosemond Akua Adobea vrs Harold Duodu Norman, Suit No. DM/0607/2026.
According to the lawyers, their client's account of the relationship differs significantly from the narrative being circulated online.
They alleged that in 2021, Harold Duodu Norman returned from an event to find his estranged wife accusing him of infidelity. The lawyers claimed that Nana Akua Addo, in a fit of rage, attempted to stab him with a knife.
The lawyers further alleged that this was the third occasion on which Nana Akua Addo had allegedly stabbed their client during their marriage.
They also claimed that there had been other incidents involving the alleged destruction of household items and injuries to members of the household when Nana Akua Addo became angry.
According to the statement, some of these alleged incidents were reported by their client to the police at Nmai Dzorn, Spintex and East Legon, among other locations.
The lawyers, however, said their client subsequently withdrew the criminal complaints following pleas from Nana Akua Addo's friends and family.
They claimed that their client made the withdrawals partly to protect her public image as a celebrity and for the sake of the couple's children.
The statement comes amid widespread circulation of videos and photographs showing Nana Akua Addo with visible injuries, including a swollen lip and a cut beneath her eye.
