Priscilla Ofori — widow of Highlife legend Daddy Lumba and popularly known as Odo Broni — has honoured his posthumous 62nd birthday with a heartfelt act of charity at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Together with Daddy Lumba’s sister, Faustina Fosu, and other family members and friends, Odo Broni paid the medical bills of several new mothers and extended support to mothers whose children are undergoing cancer treatment. She also settled the bills of all mothers who delivered at the hospital on September 29.
Odo Broni said the gesture was inspired by the painful loss of her mother‑in‑law, Comfort Ama Saah Gyamfi, who died from leukaemia — a memory that deeply affected Daddy Lumba throughout his life.
“My mother-in-law had leukaemia and died, and anytime my late husband spoke about her, he wept. That's why I have come to donate money to mothers whose children are battling cancer,” she explained.
Each mother receiving cancer-related support was given GH¢3,000.
She described the outreach as her way of honouring Daddy Lumba’s memory and celebrating the enduring legacy of a man whose music continues to shape generations.
Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, at age 60.
