Ghana’s William ‘Chembez’ Lamptey Wins Africa Monologue Challenge

Ghanaian actor, William “Chembez” Lamptey, has won Season 3 of the Africa Monologue Challenge, beating competitors from across the continent to claim the $1,000 grand prize.

Representing Ghana, Chembez delivered a series of standout performances during the competition, eventually finishing ahead of Kenya's Douglas Mwenda Nyaga and Côte d'Ivoire's Sara Loba.

Nyaga was named first runner-up, while Loba placed second runner-up in the continental acting contest.

Chembez's victory marks another major achievement for Ghana's creative arts sector, and the country also secured hosting rights for Season 4 of the Africa Monologue Challenge.

Ghana's involvement in the competition has therefore gone beyond participation, with the country producing the Season 3 winner and now preparing to host the next edition.

For Chembez, the victory brings both a $1,000 cash prize and increased visibility on a continental platform that continues to provide opportunities for emerging acting talents.
