“Kofi Kinaata’s songs speak to me; i’d love to feature him” — Selina Boateng

Ghanaian gospel musician Selina Boateng has expressed her admiration for award-winning musician and songwriter Kofi Kinaata, revealing that she would love to collaborate with him if she gets the opportunity.

Speaking during an interview with Nii Noi on HitzPraiseZone on Hitz FM, Selina Boateng said Kofi Kinaata’s songs resonate deeply with her, particularly because of his exceptional songwriting and the meaningful messages contained in his music.

According to her, the words and lessons in many of Kofi Kinaata’s songs relate strongly to her, making his music stand out to her regardless of the genre he operates in.

Selina Boateng further explained that she does not consider Kofi Kinaata’s status as a secular artiste a barrier to a potential collaboration. She stressed that what matters most to her is the message conveyed through his music.

She noted that she focuses on the substance and values contained in a song rather than simply categorising an artiste based on whether they are gospel or secular.

«“I don’t care if he is a secular artiste. What I’m looking at is the message in his songs.”»

She added that if the opportunity arises, she would be happy to feature Kofi Kinaata on a song because she appreciates his songwriting and the way he communicates relatable experiences and life lessons through music.

“Kofi Kinaata’s songs speak to me, so I would love to feature him if I ever get the chance.”»
