'Hang your heads in shame' — Baaba Cann blasts Apostle Kwadwo Safo's children over dispute

Broadcast journalist Baaba Cann has strongly criticised the children of the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, saying they should be ashamed of the manner in which their family disagreements have been played out in the public domain.

Speaking on United Showbiz, Baaba Cann expressed disappointment over the ongoing public exchanges among some of the late industrialist's children, arguing that the controversy has tarnished the legacy of a man who commanded immense respect across Ghana.

According to her, the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission was a highly revered figure whose opinions and contributions earned him admiration from people in all walks of life.

"The children of Apostle Kwadwo Safo should be ashamed of themselves and hang their heads in shame," she stated during the programme.

Baaba Cann lamented that instead of preserving their father's reputation, the children have exposed private family matters to the public, giving people the opportunity to speak negatively about a man who devoted his life to religion, innovation, and national development.

She noted that social media has been awash with back-and-forth exchanges involving members of the Kantanka family, a situation she believes has overshadowed the remarkable achievements of the late Apostle Safo.

According to her, the public disputes have disgraced the legacy of a man who was widely respected for his pioneering work in engineering, manufacturing, education, and leadership through the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group.

Her comments come amid an ongoing rift between Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, and her brother Kwadwo Safo Kantanka (Akofena). The disagreement, which has played out publicly in recent months, centres on issues relating to the leadership of the Kristo Asafo Mission, the administration of the late Apostle Safo's estate, and the management of the institutions he established.

The family dispute has generated widespread public discussion, with many Ghanaians expressing concern that the controversy has shifted attention away from celebrating Apostle Safo's extraordinary contributions to Ghana's industrial and technological advancement.

Baaba Cann maintained that regardless of any internal disagreements, the children owed their father the responsibility of protecting his image and resolving their differences privately. She stressed that Apostle Kwadwo Safo's lifelong legacy should not be overshadowed by public family conflicts, especially at a time when Ghanaians should be honouring his immense contributions to the nation.
