Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has expressed confidence that he can make history by becoming the first artiste to win the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year title three times.
The award, which has been one of the most prestigious recognitions in Ghana’s music industry since its inception in 1999, has never been won three times by any artiste.
Several top musicians, including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and VVIP, have each won the coveted title twice, but none has crossed the three-time mark.
Black Sherif recently secured his second Artiste of the Year award at the 27th TGMA edition held on Saturday, May 9, further strengthening his position as one of the country’s leading contemporary acts.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based TV3’s New Day on Monday, the musician said he remains focused and committed to his craft, stressing that another win is achievable.
“It’s possible, most definitely possible, because I’m still working. I’m back to work. We won the award Sunday dawn, and today Monday, we are back working. It is 100% possible,” he said.
Black Sherif, known for his energetic performances and emotionally driven storytelling, added that his mindset remains centred on continuous improvement rather than resting on past achievements.
