Ghanaian singer and songwriter Dennis Nana Dwamena, popularly known as KiDi, has revealed plans to release a new album in 2026.
KiDi released his last and second studio album dubbed ‘Golden Boy’ in June 2021, under Lynx Entertainment and distributed by MadeInENY, a subsidiary of Empire Distribution.
Speaking an a recent musical event in Accra, KiDi assured his fans that his upcoming album will continue his streak of high-quality releases.
“My last album was Golden Boy. The new album is coming as well. Fingers crossed… whenever I release an album, it goes and wins an Album of the Year, like straight. So I’m bringing something amazing. I want everybody to keep their fingers crossed. Thank you all for the support,” he stated.
He further encouraged fellow Ghanaian artistes to collaborate more, noting the country’s small population puts them at a numerical disadvantage on the global music stage.
“And, you know, we’re from a place where, on the global stage, we’re quite numerically disadvantaged. One of the strategies I feel will get us out there, get our names out there, is through collaboration. There’s so much power in collaboration, two powers coming together to form something amazing,” KiDi said.
He added that many African songs that have gained international recognition were successful because of collaboration.
“Most of the African songs in the last decade that have crossed over into the world were collaborations. We need to put aside our egos and put aside our differences and collaborate more,” he emphasized.
