Renowned Ghanaian media personality Nathaniel Attoh has revealed that EIB Network CEO, Bola Ray, is the originator of his popular nickname, “Citizen Attoh.”
Attoh disclosed during an interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime. He recounted that the name was born during his days at Joy FM, where he hosted a programme that he described as “80% banter and 20% real stories.”
According to him, the nickname emerged unexpectedly during one of the lively exchanges he frequently had with Bola Ray.
“Bola said, ‘Hey, this one, Citizen,’ and I responded, ‘Citizen bless.’ The next day, Bola Ray introduced me on air as Citizen At, and the name stuck immediately,” Attoh narrated.
He added that the spontaneous moment sparked a buzz among listeners, who quickly fell in love with the dynamic on-air chemistry.
“From that afternoon, every other day listeners were ready for the Citizen Attoh and Citizen Bola Ray banter,” he said.
The moniker has since grown into a recognizable brand associated with Attoh’s media persona.
