The leading pro-Islamic blog, Hafiz TV, celebrated its 6th anniversary in grand style with the launch of a news portal over the weekend in Accra.
Over the years, Hafiz TV has been recognized as a prominent pro-Islamic social media blog, offering unique content aimed at educating, informing, and entertaining audiences within the Zongo and Muslim communities.
The platform's content has garnered admiration from several countries, including Nigeria, Niger, Togo, Cameroon, the US, the UK, and other developed nations worldwide.
Founded in 2018, Hafiz TV was created with the vision of filling a gap in Zongo and Islamic media, providing a platform that reflects the stories, culture, and values of Zongo communities. Through repurposed content and mobile streaming, the platform has grown significantly, now serving over 40,000 YouTube subscribers and amassing over 3 million views across its various platforms.
Hafiz TV has become a voice for Zongo and Muslim communities, producing content that not only educates and informs but also inspires and uplifts its audience.
The anniversary ceremony brought together various chiefs, religious leaders, nonprofit organizations, ambassadors, and political representatives, all of whom commended the young and vibrant journalist behind Hafiz TV for using the platform to reshape the narrative of Zongo communities.
They emphasized the need to celebrate Hafiz TV and elevate it to greater heights, ensuring it becomes a top brand not only within the Muslim and Zongo communities but also across Ghanaian society at large.
Mr. Sami Hanandeck, the Country Director of DirectAid Society Ghana, a leading Islamic nonprofit organization, used the opportunity to encourage journalists in the country to recognize their importance in society. He likened the work of journalists to that of doctors, lawyers, and engineers, stressing that the voice of the journalist is the voice of the people, and therefore, journalists should be respected and supported.
Addressing the challenges facing Hafiz TV, its CEO, Hafiz Larry, revealed that the company currently operates from a temporary space and lacks the logistics and equipment needed to produce the high-quality content the community deserves. He highlighted the need for advanced equipment such as cameras, lighting, editing tools, and technology to tell the community's stories in the most professional way possible.
Larry noted that the platform's current resources limit its potential, and with the right tools, Hafiz TV could achieve much more. He emphasized the need for a proper studio to produce more impactful content, host live shows, and expand its reach.
He appealed to the Muslim community and the public for support, describing Hafiz TV as more than just a media platform—it's a "Sadakatul Jariya" project, an ongoing charity that continues to benefit people long after they are gone.
"Through your support, you can help spread beneficial knowledge to millions, uplift the community, and contribute to a lasting legacy," he said.
Larry called for financial contributions, stressing that every donation, no matter the size, will help the company acquire the necessary equipment and build a permanent office and professional studio, allowing Hafiz TV to serve its audience with even more impactful content.
