The prestigious 3G Awards, an annual event honoring the sacrifices and contributions of unsung heroes from Ghana, Africa, and the global community, has announced its honorees for 2024.
This year’s celebration will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Ukrainian Youth Center in Yonkers, New York.
Among the distinguished personalities receiving accolades this year are the Akumaa Mama Zimbi Foundation, Nyansa Boakwa of Happy FM, gospel artist Empress Gifty Osei, ACP Kofi Sarpong, highlife musician Ofori Amponsah, Prophet Kpegah Tamakloe, and former hiplife star-turned-evangelist Lord Kenya. The Black Queens, Ghana’s national women’s football team, and rising football star Doris Boaduwaa are also set to be honored, alongside numerous other notable figures.
The 3G Awards, organized by 3G Media Group & Afrikan Digest, aims to recognize excellence across diverse sectors such as business, entertainment, sports, and humanitarian work. Past recipients of the awards have included influential figures such as Hollywood actor Abraham Attah, boxing legend Azuma Nelson, and Ghanaian businessman and politician Honourable Kennedy Agyapong.

Business Leadership Excellence: Mr. Kwadwo Danso Dodoo
Gospel Ministry Excellence: Rev. Paa Kwesi, Willie & Mike (Best Gospel Duo), Rev. Peter Kwaku Yeboah
Media Excellence: Godfred Nuamah, Maxwell Jennings, Kingsley Amoah (3G Best Media House of the Year)
Humanitarian Excellence: Akumaa Mama Zimbi Foundation, H.E. Rev. Dr. Lilian Sally Addo
3G Movie Legend: Kalsum Sinare Baffoe, Bill Asamoah, Mawuku Kuadzi
Africa's Business Icons: Aliko Dangote, Dr. Ernest Sarpong, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Dr. Charles D. Opoku Fordjour
The event will also celebrate individuals for their lifetime achievements and community empowerment efforts. Prophet Cephas Kpegah Tamakloe and George Opoku, aka DJ G-Nyce, will be inducted into the 3G Hall of Fame, while Nii Abbey of Ghanamusic.com will be recognized for 25 years of service in showbiz promotions.
The 3G Awards have become a significant platform for recognizing the talents and contributions of Africans both on the continent and in the diaspora. This year’s ceremony promises to be a grand occasion, celebrating trailblazers and inspiring future generations.
