Fiesta Hospitality Group Chef wins award at global culinary competition

Celebrations are underway at the Fiesta Hospitality Group in Accra as Executive Head Chef Pieter Malan clinched third place at the prestigious IKA/Culinary Olympics, the world's largest international exhibition for culinary skills. Reflecting on his achievement, Chef Malan expressed that the bronze medal represents more than just a win for him, describing it as a symbol "of the seeds of learning and skills transfer that have been sown within me."

Supported by generous sponsorship from his employers at the Fiesta Hospitality Group, Chef Malan is set to introduce some of his award-winning recipes into the menu at the Grillroom Restaurant located within the Fiesta Residences.

Looking ahead, Chef Malan has set his sights on a grand aspiration – to witness full Ghanaian participation and representation at the next culinary Olympics in 2028. Proudly flying the Black Star flag, Chef Malan entered the competition as a chef hailing from Ghana, despite his South African origins.

Renowned for his culinary prowess and recognized for his contributions to television and radio ventures, Chef Malan views this recent victory as a pinnacle moment in his career.
