Renowned Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has lauded a new initiative by the French Embassy in Ghana aimed at supporting creatives in the country.

The French Embassy recently launched the 'Creation Afrique Ghana' programme, which seeks to provide training, funding and mentorship opportunities for emerging Ghanaian creatives across various fields like film, music, visual arts, and more.

In a tweet on Monday, Shatta Wale described the idea as "brilliant", saying it will be beneficial for Ghana's creative sector.

The 'On God' hitmaker noted that creative minds in Ghana have long been waiting for initiatives that support and develop their talents.

He stated: "Big shout out to the French Embassy in Ghana for this brilliant idea to help young Ghanaians in the creative arts industry with training, funding and mentorship.

“This is huge for the industry. Young people have been pushing for this kind of support. Thank you Mr Ambassador Jules-Armand Aniambossou The young people are grateful. #creationafricaghana,” he stressed.

Through its 'Creation Afrique Ghana' programme, the French Embassy aims to uncover emerging creative talents and provide them opportunities to hone their skills, connect with industry players, and produce works that can be showcased internationally.
