Musician Edem from Ghana asserts that the absence of investors and sponsors has prevented Ghanaian music from getting global recognition.
The respected musician argues that financial shortfall threatens Ghana's music business.
In an interview with Hitz FM, Edem contends that in order for Ghana to get recognition on the international scene, huge investments are needed to make strides.
The artist who hails from the Volta Region argued that Nigeria and other neighboring West African nations are leading the world stage as a result of private-government sponsorship of major events.
“Our industry lacks money. For you to rule you need to be exposed. It’s resources we need, and it’s the same preventing Togolese artists from crossing into Ghana.
“It’s the same resources that is making it hard for Bass Awards, Ghana meets Naija, and 4syte Music Awards not to happen,” Edem stated.
