During an interview on Accra FM hosted by journalist Nana Romeo, singer Patapaa made an interesting debate emerge over the profession of Jesus Christ.
When asked about rumors that he worked as a car wash attendant while on tour in the US, Patapaa denied the claims but noted that car wash workers abroad earn good money even than some famous Ghanaian artists.
He advised Ghanaian artists to consider side jobs when touring overseas.
Patapaa argued that according to the Bible, only men of God cannot take on side jobs.
However, the host, Nana Romeo countered this claim, stating that "even Jesus Christ was a carpenter."
Patapaa was quick to “correct” the journalist, saying, "You are wrong, Jesus Christ was never a carpenter but his father. According to the Bible, it was his father Joseph who was a carpenter and his mother Mary a virgin."
He continued, "If you can remember, there was a time in the Bible when Jesus Christ was preaching and some people came to tell him that his parents are calling him, to which he replied his father is the one in heaven, whose work he was doing at the time."
The "One Corner" singer demonstrated his biblical knowledge.
While Christ's earthly father Joseph was a carpenter, Patapaa emphasized that the savior himself was devoted fully to spiritual works.
