
Renowned Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame opened up why he doesn't drink alcohol and smoke marijuana.
The artist in an interview with Kwame Dadzie of Joy Prime monitored by ModernGhana News said he has ever tasted alcohol but never drunk it.
Okyeame Kwame stated, "No, I don't drink alcohol. I've never drunk alcohol before. I have tasted it before but all the alcohol I've drunk within my 47 years of age cannot reach a half-beer bottle."
The musician emphasized his preference for maintaining a clear state of mind, avoiding anything that may impair his consciousness.
Okyeame Kwame further disclosed that he has ever smoked marijuana twice in his lifetime.
"I have smoked marijuana (weed) before - twice in my entire life," he admitted.
Explaining the experience after smoking it, he described feeling weak and experiencing hallucinations.
According to him, all those encounters occurred during his youthful days even before his musical journey had commenced.
"When we were kids, we used to pick cigarette butts, light a fire on it just to see how it feels, but I didn't enjoy it," he said.
Okyeame Kwame's decision to refrain from alcohol and marijuana stems from his desire to long in his career without artificial inducements.
“I always want to be intentional about things I'm saying, the thoughts that are coming to my head, the actions I'm taking and all that. This is to ensure that I live my life without artificial dopamine, without saying that I was influenced by someone or something,” he revealed.
