Popular Ghanaian singer Oseikrom Sikanii has revealed that he has stopped smoking marijuana after being addicted to the drug for seven years.
Speaking in an interview on the Delay Show aired on Accra-based TV3, the singer said he has not smoked for the past 5 days.
When asked by show host Deloris Frimpong Manso if he had really stopped, Oseikrom Sikanii said: "I used to smoke marijuana but I have stopped because people used to talk about it. I stopped it five days ago."
The "Twetwe Mu" admitted that initially he would smoke frequently, saying "At first, I couldn't live for even two hours without smoking so having stopped for five days means I have stopped."
The singer, whose real name is Hansford Brefo, said he started smoking marijuana when he was on the streets at a young age.
"I have smoked for seven years now. My parents heard about it but they didn’t see me smoking. I started smoking it when I got on the street," he said.
