In a recent interview, Perez Musik shared a surprising revelation about his hit song "Hewale Lala."

According to him, the funds he originally intended to use to start his own business were instead used to produce the award-winning track.

In the interview, Perez explained that he had been saving for several years with the goal of starting his own rice business.

However, when the opportunity came to record "Hewale Lala," Perez decided to take a chance on his music career instead.

“I remember when I took the decision to record this song…I had some money and I thought of doing rice business. I wanted to buy rice and sell it wholesale, or use the money to record this song. For some days, I was there thinking about it and I was like, you know what, let’s use the money to record the song. If we’re done and we go hungry, God will provide,” he narrated.

The risk paid off, as "Hewale Lala" quickly gained popularity and eventually had an impact on people’s lives, as others received great testimonies about the song.

He said, “For me, the award is more like the essence of why I did the song. For me, it’s about the testimonies I hear about the song - like a pregnant woman having difficulties in delivering and it was the song that helped her to push. I met someone who walked to me and said, ‘I was going to commit suicide until I heard your song, and when I heard it, I cried the whole night and decided not to do it…”

The song's unique blend of traditional and contemporary music styles has won audiences across the globe, cementing Perez's status as a rising star in the music industry.
