3Music Awards’ delay: Board will issue a communique soon – Baba Sadiq

The 3Music Awards, founded by Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has become one of the most highly anticipated musical awards events in Ghana.

The event, which is usually held in March annually, has however been delayed this year without any official explanation.

Fans of the award event have been left in anticipation, wondering what could be responsible for the delay.

Baba Sadiq, who resigned as the awards’ board chairman to follow his political ambition, said he leaves it to the new board chairperson, Rashidatu Abdulai, to issue a statement on the current state of the event.

According to Sadiq, management of 3Media Network, organizers of the award scheme, will issue a statement in the next few weeks.

“It will be unfair to preempt the answer. Our new CEO Rashidatu Abdulai is fully on top and in charge, and I know a few of the things that they are planning and some of the things that they are doing. And so I really would like them to take it off from there,” Sadiq said on Accra-based Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, hosted by Kwame Dadzie.

The 3Music Awards has gained a reputation as an event that recognizes and rewards musical talent of various genres.

The event usually features performances from some of the biggest names in the Ghanaian music industry and attracts a huge audience.

The delay in this year's event has left many fans of the award event disappointed, but it is hoped that the statement that will be issued by the organizers will provide an explanation for the delay and give fans something to look forward to.
