Samini shares his presidential ambitions for the upcoming GIMPA SRC elections

Emmanuel Andrews Saminni, better known as Sammi, has explained why he wants to be the next President of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the Ghana Institute of Management of Public Affairs (GIMPA).

The reggae-dancehall performer has declared his intention to run for the position in the upcoming campus elections.

Speaking on Accra-based GTV's breakfast show on Saturday, June 18, 2022, Samini stated that the situation on campus concerning students' welfare inspired his decision to finally avail himself and become the SRC President.

He further stated that he is very optimistic that when he is given the opportunity, he will be able to deliver because of what he has been able to achieve for himself as well as what he has accomplished on campus with the help of GIMPA as an institution.

According to the 'Linda' hitmaker, he will use his connections in his musical career to bring a lot of development to GIMPA.

“I am inspired to lead my generation on campus from where it is now to the time I will leave campus. I know that with what I have been able to achieve for myself on the side and what I have been able to achieve on campus with the help of GIMPA as an institution, I can bring a lot of Change to the plenty of situations on as regard to challenges faced by students.

“I know what I can do to bring people on board to support initiatives. I can bring companies to support projects with my influence as a brand ambassador for several organizations I know I can do that,” he stated

When asked if he is overly optimistic about winning the election, he responded that he believes politics can be tricky, so he is campaigning seriously.

The Ghana Institute of Management of Public Affairs has commenced another political season after announcing the qualified candidates after vetting onr June 13, 2022.

Meanwhile, the election date is not yet available to this portal, but campaigning has begun on campus.

Only two candidates are competing for the position, Samini and Theophilus Quartey.
