Two Ghanaian female entertainers, Mzvee, an Afropop and reggae singer and Kafui Danku, who is an actress and a movie producer, have both explained why they remain humble despite their success.

According to Kafui Danku, what has propelled his humility, particularly to her fans and everyone she meets, is that she wants to make an impact on the younger generation under her. She believes she can only do so if she makes herself available at their doorsteps.

“I have always wanted to make an impact and that is what has influenced me to be humble and simple towards my people despite who I am, I want to be an inspiration to the younger ones and that is why I am humble. I know to be to make an impact I have to be friendly,” she stated.

Miss Kafui noted that she does not dislike criticism as some constructive criticism can help shape her career for the better.

“What I feel about criticisms, I believe in everything you do, you will need people to criticise you so you can pick the productive one to improve on your work,” she said.

MzVee, on the other hand, explained her humbleness by stating that her background and desire to be unique among others have influenced her down-to-earth and simple lifestyle.

“I am from a very poor background so I only need to work hard and achieve success and be who I was before I became a star and that had made me very unique and to remain simple as well,” she said

She admitted that her simplicity sometimes makes her job difficult because people force her to do things that go against her personality.

“I sometimes walk into some offices and the people will be like, you are too simple, this is not the work for you, shouldn't be doing. They will say do this because this is what is trending and making the ladies get money... I just want to be myself for me to be here today, so being myself has helped me,” she stated.

She advised the young aspiring musicians to be patient, referring to an Indian man who says "slowest is fastest".

Both MzVee and Kafui Danku were lucky to be part of some six Ghanaian ladies whose entrepreneurial journeys have been featured in 'DARE TO BE', a book authored by Mrs. Esther Ambah Numbra Cobbah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Strategic Communications Africa (Stratcomm Africa).

They made these revelations during the launch of this book on Sunday, June 19, 2022, hosted at the Sealine View, 5th Avenue in McCarthy Hill, a suburb of Accra.
