Radio Pundits Blast United Showbiz Producers; Blame McBrown, Others

Industry News Radio Pundits Blast United Showbiz Producers; Blame McBrown, Others
JUL 14, 2020 LISTEN

Last Saturday’s edition of UTV’s ‘United Showbiz’ almost turned into ‘divided showbiz’ as comedians, Funny Face and Kwadwo Nkansah ‘Lil Win’, took their beef to another level when they almost traded ‘blows’ on live television.

It took the General Manager Fadda Dickson’s intervention to calm the two down in other to continue with the show. Today, on the return of Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM, radio pundits took turns to share their thoughts when the topic was discussed on the ‘Common Sense’ segment with Sammy Flex. The discussion was to know the rights and wrongs with Funny Face and Lilwin’s clash on UTV last Saturday evening.

Please take a read of what they had to say:

Attractive Mustapha (Journalist and Blogger ) – The problem is not only between Funny Face and Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin but Bismark The Joke and Kalybos are also involved so where were they on the show? If the intent was to solve a problem, then they should have been invited too. We should blame Nana Ama McBrown for the clash on live TV and UTV should also apologize to Ghanaians. The host is a friend to the two as we all know. Funny and Lilwin could have been spoken to before the show to psych them, calm them down or prepare them for the show.

Kobby Kyei (Blogger)- Funny Face is a professional actor and Lilwin is also a professional actor. I can say UTV failed with the production. UTV should apologize to Ghanaians. You know why? The station disappointed it’s cherished viewers last Saturday night. People are very passionate about UTV and it will break the heart of many viewers to see that happen on live TV.

Kofi Asamoah (Film director, writer, and film producer) – UTV is too big to stage such a controversy on their platform. We should not call for UTV to apologize again because they have already done that.

Lady Rev (Pastor, TV producer/Radio Presenter, content developer and Author)- Anyone who decides to watch or listen to any particular station does so by their own choice, so they should be able to take whatever comes out of it. If it is good, you have to digest it, same way if its bad you have to digest it as well. On the show, there’s a moral aspect but in the business you barely look at the moral aspect. Because at the end of the day, the person wants the trends. We are talking about it now. It`s trending, YouTube, digital marketers are sitting here. They should calculate how much they’re making by now regardless.
