Ghanaian writer, musician and composer Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah, popularly known as Akwaboah, has revealed that he wrote most of the songs on Sarkodie’s ‘Mary’ album.
Sarkodie’s new album is dedicated to her grandmother and is expected to be released on her birthday which falls on September 12.
It is the rapper's fourth album, and a follow-up to his last album ‘Sarkology’, which he released in 2014.
Akwaboah disclosed in an interview with Hitz News that he composed about 90 percent of the songs on the album.
“I would say I wrote about 90% of the songs on the ‘Mary’ album,” he said.
According to the singer, who was also featured on two songs on the album, Sarkodie only raps whilst he gets an artiste to sing the lyrics.
“I write and look for an artiste to perform the song then Sarkodie does the rap,” he stated.
“I’ve got lot of songs on the ‘Mary’ album but I will be releasing more singles and more videos,” he added.
Apart from Akwaboah, the live recorded ‘Mary’ album features artistes like Efya, Mugeez, Obrafour and Chase.
