
Twenty-three-year-old Salomey Amoakoa Mensah known as Akua, a product of Takoradi Polytechnic, was crowned the winner of this year's Ghana's Most Beautiful at the National Theatre on Sunday night.
She walked home with a KIA car, GH¢7,000, a one year supply of GTP wax prints and six months supply of Voltic mineral water.
Volta region's Enam, who placed second, took home GH¢6,000, one year supply of GTP prints and six months supply of Voltic mineral water.
Akweley and Abena from the Greater Accra and Brong Ahafo region took the third and fourth places respectively. For their prices, Akweley got GH¢5,000 while Abena on the other hand walked away with GH¢4,000.
The second, third and fourth winners will also act as MDG Youth Ambassadors.
The night also witnessed performances by some of Ghana's renowned musicians – 4×4, Rana, Nana Acheampong, Sherifa Gunu, Keche among others, who took turns to treat the packed audience to exciting musical performances.
All the contestants displayed their beauty on the runway, modelling African, dinner and casual wears to the delight of the audience, and clearly brought out the fact that it was going to be a keenly contested finale.
