THE HIGH-LIFE Institute and Scratch Studios last Friday launched the 'Dream Child' song at the British Council Hall in Accra.
The single, 'Dream Child', was produced by the Highlife Institute in collaboration with Scratch Studios located at East Legon in Accra.
The launch ceremony, which was chaired by Kabral Blay Amehere, chairman of the National Media Commission, attracted a large number of showbiz personalities including top musicians like Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Bissa Simons, Wutah Kobby, A-Plus, Obour and a host of others.
The Dream Child Project, which is spearheaded by ace highlife musician and founder of the Highlife Institute, Ben Brako, will raise money for several child-related charity causes, particularly the Children's Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
All the proceeds from the charity single would be under the supervision and management of KPMG.
The Dream Child Project was inspired by the 'We Are The World' single. The original inspiration for the project came from a discussion with Kwasi Gyan Apenteng of the CISP, Kofi Tsikata of the World Bank and Kofi Amoakohene of Scratch Studios also provided a lot of encouragement.
Scratch Studios is the brainchild of outstanding entrepreneur and music devotee Kofi Amoakohene, boss of Ghana's most enduring and ultra-exciting nightclub - OOPS!
Scratch Studios was created to revolutionize the music landscape by providing top quality services, including recording facilities for audio and video productions, rehearsal rooms, instruments and a 400-seater venue for live performances.
Scratch Studios also plans to organize competitions and talent hunts to expose artistes with exceptional ability and set up a Scratch Awards scheme to honour artistes who are “up to scratch” and artistes committed to professionalism and excellence who have made it to the top.
This will cut through all genres of music and apply to musicians all over the globe.
There will also be a special 'Videoke' performance about the project.
