A Serbian music professor, Aleksandar Miljkovic, has been honoured by the Chief and people of Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region of Ghana for his contributions to the development of the community.
The honour was conferred through a medal presented in Serbia by Second Director of the Olivera Miljkovic Foundation, Leon Daniel Agyeman Dodoo, acting on behalf of the traditional leadership of Gomoa Fetteh.
Professor Miljkovic, who also serves as the First Director of the Olivera Miljkovic Foundation, was recognised for both his personal commitment and the work of the foundation in the Gomoa community.
The foundation has been involved in a number of initiatives aimed at supporting and improving lives within the area, efforts which local authorities say have not gone unnoticed.
Speaking after the presentation, Mr. Dodoo described the gesture as a symbol of appreciation from the entire community.
“This medal represents the gratitude of the Chief and people of Gomoa Fetteh for the impact made through the foundation and the continued support,” he stated.
The medal is regarded as one of the highest symbols of honour from Gomoa Fetteh, traditionally reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the community.
Receiving the honour, Professor Miljkovic expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives in Ghana through the foundation.
The presentation further highlights the growing ties between Ghana and Serbia, particularly in the areas of culture, philanthropy and community development.
