Wildfires kill one, displace thousands in Croatia

In Croatia, at least one person has died, and several others are critically injured in a wildfire near the coastal town of Omis. Thousands of people had to leave their homes, and witnesses say even boats at the dock caught fire, forcing people to jump into the sea to escape the flames. Officials say the fire, which scorched nearly 1,000 hectares in about four hours, has been unlike anything they've seen, with some residents refusing to abandon their homes even as vehicles burned around them.
